Origami Sailboat

You begin making the sailboat after making the Hat. Despite them being paper,
the boats can actually float! That is, as long as the paper isn't soggy.
I find that laminated paper can actually float for forever as long as the boat is properly made.

1) Fold the Hat.

2) Position the hat like this, with the dome facing up.
3) Fold two of the edges on the two corners inside of the other two.

4) Push the model on it's side then flatten it. It should look like a diamond.

5) Fold the bottom flap, top layer only, up.
6) Flip it over, then repeat the fold. It should now look like a right triangle.

7) Stick your finger in the bottom of the model, and make the
creases on the sides the creases on the front/back. Do the opposite too.

8) It should look like the diamond in step 10, but smaller.
There should be a small stripe in the middle.

9) Bring the bottom points up the sides. As you do it a bottom should form.

9.5) This is what it should look like part way through the step.

9.75) This is the end product of the step 9 fold.

10) Position your hand like in the picture, then gently
curve/uncrease the creases, so the hull is rounded.

All done!

Now have fun making more sailboats and floating them!
