Origami Bases









Bases are very important in origami. They are basically shortcuts to making a bunch of different models.
They provide a generic, easy to memorize starting point to make a diverse group of models.


1) Get a square of paper. White side up will make a colored waterbomb base.
Colored side up will make a colored diamond base.

2) Crease the paper horizontally.

3) Unfold and crease the paper vertically.

4) Unfold and flip the paper over. There should be a creased +.
5) Crease one of the diagonals.

5) Crease the other diagonal.

2) Push the paper in from the sides and allow the center to rise up.

2) Push the paper in from the corners and allow the center to rise up.

3) Squish it together so it is 2D, then lay it flat on the table. It should look like a right triangle.
