This is the origami hat, but this one was made from one half sheet of paper, so the edges on the bottom are tall.
It looks a lot better if you make it from a whole sheet of paper. You need the hat to make the Sailboat
 1) Take a sheet of paper and position it landscape style. |
 2) Fold it in half horizontally and vertically, then unfold. |
 3) Rotate it 90 degrees, then fold it like the picture. |
 4) Fold in the top edges in to the center. |
 5) Fold the bottom raw edge up. The crease should be at the bottom of the folded down corners. |
 6) Do the same on the back. |
This isn't a particularly hard or interesting model, but you need it to make the Sailboat.
Good job folding it though, and have fun making more of both the hat and the sailboat!
